evening!

well following on from my introduction a few months ago i have been lurking around here from time to time, seeing what new tourings have been coming up for sale. As my current car is slowly becoming too good to be using everyday (especially during winter) so i have been considering a new daily.

then unexpectedly at the beggining of this week, a friend pointed out to me this beauty! http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=204380

so after a few messages to and fro, on monday evening we were setting off for a 2 1/2 hour drive to the middle of nowhere near jordie land. We arrived, and aside from the odd few niggles it was perfect! after the usual bartering i came away with it for £300

good bits:
solid scuttle panel
fully polyubushed front end
lowered with springs and dampers all round 60/60
generally quite solid
4 new tyres and almost perfect wheels

bad bits:
rear discs and pads are shot
small amount of rot in engine bay (nothing too major)
blowing exhaust
drivers seat is threadbare
whining diff

nothing major and will soon be sorted!

and i love it :) the size has already proved useful a couple of times and its nice to be doing some 35mpg driving instead of 15-20!

the plan is to use it as is, aside from sorting out the usual bits and bobs. while stripping my polo's engine yet again to have it balanced and then rebuild it all correctly this time and then once thats finally done the beemer will come off the road to have my friends spare 2.5 fitted ;)

heres a couple of pics as she stands, the last one is after a quick wash and polish on thursday
