Ive put a 93 Vanos engine loom on a 91 non Vanos engine and am having problems getting it to fire up.
Ive left the connector to the vanos unit just hanging loose and fitted the non vanos ECU.
Ive had to make an adapter for the cam sensor as the plug is different.
Ive checked the sensors on a multimeter and the cam one reads around 1350 ohms and crank reads 505 ohms.
Engine cranks over fine but pump doesnt prime and no spark at the plugs.
Any suggestions as the 2 sensor readings seem ok to me?

Id be surprised if it works mate. Its not firing up because the trigger wheels are different.

No non vanos looms about?

But he's using the correct trigger wheel with the matching ECU. The only incorrect part is the copper wire in between.
Are the pin connections on a non vanos ECU all the same as those on a vanos ECU? Never compared them in detail so I can't answer.

Who knows, but you wont run a vanos ECU without a vanos pulley, thats a fact! :D

But he's not trying to run a vanos ECU without a vanos pulley, if I'm reading the OP correctly.
He's running a non vanos pulley and a non vanos ECU. Only the copper wire is from a vanos engine.
