misfire :-((

Ive just taken my M52 2door out for a run and for some reason its not running right and it was wen i parked it up only been 4-5 days,
so it starts and ticks over fine but seem to be holding back with a missfire but not a major miss, say im in 3rd gear it will do it till 3.5k and will then go as it should and then the same in 4th. Had a look over everything seems ok. Has anyone had this before any common thing i should b looking for thanks guys

I would start with the basics...
Check the plugs, pull them check the condition, or just replace them,
Coil packs, when the engine is running, pull the connectors off 1 by 1 see if there is any change,

Then if it's still the same, check...
Cam sensor and Crank sensor...??

The car idles good it's only wen its moving and under load how do I check the sensors? Does it have to b running and moving???

for a miss like this i would check coils and plugs first as above. if it does it at a certain rpm then it is likely 1 coil breaking down and the rest being ok which is why she would come on song up top as normal......

im pretty sure a dicky cam sensor would make it run like shite all the way through the rev range....

Easiest practical way to check coil packs is to obtain a spare one, swap it with coil #1, run the car, and if no difference, swap the coil you removed from cylinder 1 with the coil #2, and so on.

I couldn't find a coil so wen I was having a look around in there I just removed the plug on the MAF and it all claered took it for a run and it seem to b fine, do the problems sound like I've found it or could it b hiding something else??? If this sorts it how much am I looking to pay for a new one thanks guys

Sounds like its MAF then, it will run much better with a working MAF than no MAF. You wont want to buy a 'new' one
