Hi folks, a mate of mine has picked up a bmw sabre speedboat with what appears to be a 2.0 m10 inboard engine and full bmw interior/livery etc for peanuts needing very little work.
I had never heard of it before and thought people on here might know more, I'll get some pics up when I go to see it

I saw one of those a few years ago just after I'd bought my Sport and it was painted in a dark grey colour also- I thought it was epic!! Didn't think they actually did them, I thought the owner had had it done!
Utterly gay, but brilliant at the same time

Any idea what the SAE HP rating is of these?

I trust he bought a suitable chain to go with it.........and he remembered to file the engine number off. Don't want to get collared by the law after snagging it on a reef.Kedge wrote:The M10 from my chromie was bought by someone to use in a boat

Thats right actually, just found some info on it. BMW must have done quite a bit to the engine to get an SAE 130hp! The SAE HP rating of a car engine is usually about half of its max HP.e30kev wrote:He was told around 130 bhp iirc, but dont have proof of thisschnaarf wrote:I'd like to know the modifications they made to it.
