I've read and found out a little problem i can resolve by replacing the Temperature Sensor with the blue plug on it.
I have a 318i M40 lump and the plug is right under the inlet manifold so it is very hard to get to.

What i am asking is how many pins does this have?

I assumed it has 3 pins like the other's but have been asked by the local part's store if it has 1 or 2 pin's.

Can anyone please tell me how many pin's this sensor has so i don't buy the wrong one :D
And has the knowledge to tell me if this is the right sensor to replace for the reason of the engine being a bit funny at idle.

I've done all the usual check's, clean up's and replacment's now so just need to make sure this is the RIGHT next step.

Cheer's

Cheer's geese, really appreciate it :thumb:

Also, do you know if this is the right one to change cos' there's two sensor's?
Does the other one have one pin then or is that the M10 with one pin?

Spot on.

Blue temp can cause a lot of running problems, and for the price it costs, it's rude not to do it!

how difficult is it to remove ?

Does the inlet manifold need to be removed first?

I managed to change mine with the inlet still in place, but it was about 4 years ago, and can't remember much!! :?

I changed mine at the weekend. I removed the top half of the inlet manifold to get to it, but you could do the job by just removing the throttle body. It might be possible to change it with everything in place, but it would be a very fiddly job.

You will need a deep 17mm socket too.
