Not quite a BMW, but I have a 2003 diesel range rover (BMW Engine) I hate the gear changing habits of.

It has a 5 speed auto box which lingers in the high revs for bloody ages. I want to change this and have it change gears according to my throttle activity. Ie if I pull my foot off accelerator, I want it to go to the next gear and drop the revs accordingly.

Also I want the opposite, when i floor it rather then playing with revs and delivering no power I want it the change down and give me some torque!

how do I do it? as cheap as poss.

Ps It has the exact same fly by wire pedal as the s54 :D

Get it scanned AND do an oil and filter chenge using the CORRECT oil. 200ish BHP struggling to move 2500kg means the longlife oil that it has had since 2003 is probably not too healthy.

it doesnt struggle to move. when crusing it sits in the wrong gears keeping revs high.

defo a good idea to change the oil tho!
