Supersprint do a header for the IS, although its 467 quid. I cant justify that as standard IS manifolds are very good anyway. I dont know off anyone who has done it though

As for a LSD off a sport, as long as its a tec 2 3.91 i think people have done it an its been fine

you really need something in the 4.30's for an IS though. 318i 5 speed manual convertables had a 4.27 LSD that would be superd. They are a hard find though

4.10 LSDs are ideal but if you find one for under 350 id like to see it!

EDIT: Welcome to the zone mate

3.91 lsd from a sport is ok, a bit slower accelerating, but better revs on the motorway and fuel economy. its definitely noticeable, but not a huge difference. other thing to bear in mind is they're large case so weigh an extra 10kgs or so and require the propshaft to be shortened by loosening the collar in the middle - means dropping the exhaust and heastshield. i'm happy with mine, the ratio suits me, with the amount of motorway driving i do i wouldn't want anything more than a 4.1.
changing the manifold is a waste of time.
