right came to fit the cable that i got. i didnt have a really good look at it till i got it out today and first thing is it was way too short. also the original e30 one has a real sharp angle on it from the bulkhead that this one wouldnt be able to pull it off. the guy said that there was actually 2 cables available and the other one is 1m or so long but not available. the e30 would fit if the body of the trunking was about 2 inch longer! :?

the number i gave was from real oem part number
35411160611
real oem only list one cable though, and the funny thing was that the bag had e34 m5 written on it not m50, so either it was for an m5 or theyd missed off the '0' lol

any ideas guys?

I ordered 35 41 1 160 611 and have mock fitted it up, and it seems to be perfect! I fitted it with the engine out for ease and have had it folded behind the fusebox at the moment to keep it out the way. Perhaps it is the wrong part somehow :?

I bought mine from bmw, i think it was wrapped about twice in the packet and as it comes out to the fuse box I think I could assume it is about a metre long.
Rather strange that.

I remember when I got mine I looked at it and thought no way, too short but it did fit, it does have the 90 degree part on it though where it comes out of the bulkhead. It's way less than 1M, probably closer to 1/2.

just to update i received the cable. fits perfect so 1170mm with the 90 deg angle for the bulkhead is the boy. there is no way in hell that a cable 1/2m long would reach to the throttle body on an m50?!?... you must have the same one i have! the original e30 one is only a smidge too short - about 1100mm id say but it doesnt have enough adjust on anyway.
