You can get thicker spring pads from the dealers!
Or you can use two set, one inside the other (one may need a bit of modding/cutting aroud the "nipple"!)

Hi Mate
Just measured my 325se 2 door and it measures 345mm from the center of the wheel to the arch. This is with nothing in the car/boot etc. This should hopefully give you some idea how low yours is compared to standard.

if you measure from the centre of the wheel to arch it won't matter about wheel and tyre size and you willl get an asccurate measure of the "drop" in suspension.
For reference my tyres are 205/55 16" distance to arch from ground is 640mm

The cab in my sig is not on standard springs and not the one I measured, i'm unsure of the drop on this and will be raising it over the winter, I have estimated that to be dropped between 60mm & 80mm. I will be raising it to a more useable 40mm drop !

Its already been dropped around 80mm and corners like it is on rails, but its chewing f*ck out of my tyres as i dont get chance to go via the alps on the way to work. i want to take it back to around 40mm drop, i might just get a new shock/spring setup.Karan wrote:stop being such a girl..... slam it 60mm and fit huuuuuuuge anti roll bars and good shocks and do some 150mph motorway traffic weaving with ease
With a family of four in the car, it dont sound that good either !!!!

i would go 30mm or even. just 20mm bmw m-tech springs.
for a usable everyday car 40 is as low as it goes. I don't car what anyone else says it's too low. 40mm is bad enough worrying about humps 5 up in it. Or even with no one in the car, plus u can get up most kerbs when parking sometimes when it's needed

JUst put some M-tec rear springs in mate, they'll do the trick.
Just jack the rear end up, remove the wheel, undo the bolt on the bottom of the shock and pull the trailing arm down and you'll be able to just slip the old spring out.
Visa-versa for fitting (haynes style lol)
Neil.

UPDATE:
Heres the differnce between the springs. The red ones are the jamex 7005's that are currently fitted to my car, The black one's are a set from an IS that are to be fitted to my car.

sorry if my 2cents is coming in a bit late, but i have dropped my car 40 mm aswell and the back was looking a bit too low, turned out my rear shocks where gone, so i replaced them with a set of gas riders and its looking good, they picked up the back just enough to stop scratching my mud flaps everywhere.
