If you don't know what I mean, there's a hammered style black paint (which is rubbery) on the bottom half of my rear bumper.
I want to colour code it silver, seen it done before and looks 100x more tidy. What paint is suitable? How do I go about respraying it? Or is it just a case of sanding it all off and starting from scratch?

you can over paint, its Gravi-gaurd or something similar. I was asking about this earlier in the week as i need to replace both sills and sort out the rear valance and want to colour code is as OE spec.
You can either get it in a bottle and use a Shultz gun (gives the effect) or in a aerosol version which apparently works too much the effect is not quite the same. Bodyship will probably to it pretty cheap.
Mask off, key and spray. take them no time at all.

thats what i was told, however, personally i would give it a key with a scotch pad, a light coat of primer and then go over in bodycolour. Luckily my car is black so a bit easier. Not too sure if OE was body colour fr and rr and black on sideskirts as i have seen white e30's with black sills.
