However, I've never realy "got" small coupes. Evem the Z3M Coupe I always think if your gonna have an impractical 2 seater, then you may as well have the convertible. Those thoughts were originally kicked off with the Triumph GT6 and the MGB GT. While pretty, they always seemed claustrophibic in comparison to there topless breathren.

Therefore, if it has the be a Stingray, then I'm afraid I'd take the "benders" route with this:

Why anybody would take a belly button E type over one of these , god knows ? :?

Norway is on the 2nd place when it come to US cars in Europe, just behind Sweden. To see a product from Detroit is quite regular here and mostly you see US.Vans and US.Pick ups and plenty of cars from the 50-60 and 70s.

I must say I dont have the biggest interest for them tbh - but there is one coupe from US I want in my garage, and here is a picture of it!

You are right there Eric, the '65 -'69 Corvair coupe is a truly stunning looking car . And very worthy underneath the pretty face. You could even get a turbo engine when Saab were still dreaming of ford V4s
The 60s really was the golden era for Detroit.

Here we go then. Don't know (or care) what half of them are but a good selection.

We'll kick off with one I do now (or think I know) 59 Coupe de Ville?

The top Cadillac is a 1960 with the lower fins. As a four door with the long chrome lower strip it might be a Fleetwood or a Deville, but not a Series Sixty Special. Coupe Deville's are two door, as was the cheaper Series 62 Coupe.

The gold one underneath is a 1966, either a Calais or more likely a DeVille.

Both stunning cars. Never mind the belly button Tri Chevy crap - those things were the American equivalent of a Hillman Minx. Cadillacs and Lincolns can be had for much, much less.

The 66 was a sedan de ville. Big man from iror reckons the black was was also a Sedan De ville and agrees its a '60. God we're sad fookers!

He's just had a new exhaust system made up - straight through pipes with just a cherry-bomb at the back on each side - coupled with a mahoosive V8 he isnt too popular with the neighbours first thing on Sunday mornings

Look at that! Proper rock and roll!

Tip on those hideous fog lights. Convert the right hand reverse light using red LED bulbs. Keeps the tail lights looking "in unison" but complies to MOT standards. Plus you still keep one reverse light and one THAT SIZE should be ample! An old MX-5 Eunos trick I have used.

Agree with the tie wrap king though. Get the IROC block in ASAP.

this one sounds very well for a V6 and pulls quite nicely despite being only 170BHP ?

I simply love American cars (sorry!)

Anyway we recently competed at Prescott Stars and Stripes weekend

Next year will host La Vie en Bleu on 24/25 May 2014 which will be as spectacular with crowds/stands/etc.
Talking to the organiser Sunday night I ventured an entry in Herman- well it is sort of French Blue and Buchloe is fairly near Alsace & Lorraine (?)- which I think was well received.
If I do get an entry - I will let you know how we get on- as well as comparing times (I got down to 52 seconds in Butch whilst not getting out of second gear). Should Herman beat Butch around this really twisty event?
