Thats what insurance is for

Lol, I dont think you understand, its not just a car to some people Matt... The fact that someone else want to put there grubby non working loser fingers on it makes the owners feel sick...

My dogs were therer to just warn me if people were outside and to alert whoever was out there that there was lots of dogs watching and barking like mad.

Also, some people thrieve on the idea of having the chance to go out with a bat to hit some theiving gits... Doesnt make them a 'hard man', just means they can hit someone who needs to be hit.

My thoughts are a cheap android phone (you can get an Orange pay as you go one for £80-£100 here; http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/phones/sale)

Then install one of the located applications so you can track the phone.

Once this is all done you need to think of a way to hide the phone in the car, but still have decent reception.

Then you have to think about have some kind of charging system for it, perhaps something on a electrical timer, charge on for 5 hours, charge off for 12 hours or something..

Every so often check on your computer that it is working.

Cheap tracking system!

regardless of what you do, if someone wants your car theyll have it. parking other cars over the drive is a good deterrant. alarm/immob will not stop someone low-loading it away. one thing i do like is the fact that although the e30 is a cheap (to some - non classic)car people will leave your 05' plate alone to steal one lol (makes me feel important in a loser-ish kind of way). Reminds me of the sierra cossie days when a bloke i knew had his pushed down the street by another vehicle trying to bump start it 8O

new cars are sooooo boring though so i cant blame people for trying to nick e30s! i would have to dis-embowel a random if i caught him tried to thieve mine though :?

its just so scary especially when you know someone has the intention of nicking your car. i wouldn't worry about my 08 plate 535d because i know if it gets stolen i have insurance and can easily buy another, with the e30 its different you have those rare morsels that you come across by chance you may never find again. You could buy another e30 but it will never be the same all e30's are unique and the insurance would probably not even pay out what the cars worth to you :-x

I understand perfectly well.... My e30 has had a lot of time and effort put in to her not to mention money and I love it to bits.

I would be truely devastated if some scummy c*nts had it away.

But what if they battered you or more over what if they ran you over in their truck or your car in a desperate bid to avoid capture!

Do you think your family would have any qualms if you were killed or paralysed?

It's the standard BMW cab alarm. I don't know if it is any use.
