I believe:

5.0 rover v8 (from tvr's)
720hp as mentioned above at 16psi but that was qualifying power - race power was ~600hp at some-other-psi
'08 GSX-R750, '02 CBR600F, and a beast of a Focus 1.8LX...

Wow, if you believe right then that would then be a def ultimate E30, can't even imagine what sort of experience that must be, the handling and the power... :burn: you know what I mean ???

straignt line yes, but this kicks arse on a 1/4 mine and it handles like its on rails, leada coilovers all round!!!
its basicly a rover V8, stroked with a tvr flat plane crank, custom internals, but its a specialy cast block for tvr. the thing can rev to 8k !!

Dont like it :( It hasn't got a wide arch kit, fat split rims, loads of screens and stuff and a fat paint job. Nar defo no, but i'd like the engine in my car though. It would look good at shows when i trailer it there so as to not get it dirty :D winkeye

I'd have to say that I dont particularly like it. Yes its well designed and beautifully crafted. but it seems a bit "soulless"

I'd rather have something with a bmw v8/v12 in it anyday-TVR engines are for TVR's

Have actually had experience in this car both on the road and hot laps at Donnington Park - was a customer at Prism and attended their track days - and can honestly say absolutely nothing compairs for speed, noise, handling, shock factor and quality of workmanship.
Quite simply it is my favourite car to ever have ridden in and is right up there at the top of my wish list - awesome, truely awesome.

HAHA! I have to agree thought, that is an awesome machine. using V8 engines in E30's seems to be a growning theme, there is an E30 touring car replica with a pontiac GTo V8 in it that was at Donnington as well (granted not twin turbo and some silly 700bhp but still cool as!)

The only one problem I can see with the car is the lack of ability to see when your accelerate, pretty sure the power of that engine would squash your eye balls into a sloppy mess at the back of your head like a pair of fried eggs! hahaha

technicly i'd call it a bmw V8, before you all start thinking i'm mad hear me out. right during the war, (WW2 ithink) the ameicans pinched an engine desighn and blue prints from the germans and a particular all alloy push rod V8 was one of them, buick then developed it a bit and then used it. The rover v8 was a smaller version of this, and this is what is now ended up in prisms car, well a hybrid version, so i like to think its heart and soul comes from the germans. any one agree or heard this story aswell as me??

I agree with you. Ant told me about this V8 thing aswell.

What about using the 4.4 V8 from the 540i/740i?

too heavy, limited in a few ways and very very expensive to gets proper parts for it rover v8 has 60 years of developments and thousands of options. one mate of mine has a mk2 escort drag racer. a 3.5 rover v8 and it produces 650 bhp naturally aspirated and revs to 12,500 rpm. seen in done on an engine dyno, and has 350 nitrous going thru it as well to make 1000 !!! its cost silly money
