Ok im doing a 2.7eta conversion on my car.

The 2.7eta has the early motronic system ?

There is a sensor on the autobox on the eta...

If i convert to the later system can i get rid of it?

Do i need this sensor ?

What does it do ?

I too have a 2.7 conversion based on the 525e.

Basically ditch all the injection and timing parts from the eta and fit all the existing parts from your E30. The blocks have exactly the same mounting points as your existing engine.

Job done

Cheers,

IIRC they are crankshaft position sensors, these will be replaced by the crankshaft sensor on the front of the engine, you need to swap the front pulleys over as already mentioned they just bolt on to the 525e block.
