Before I started using a trickle charger I got through a few batteries as well as SI boards.

Since using a trickle charger I have not had to buy another battery (and SI boards for my car are NLA).

Problem is with the current fuel is that filling the tank is fine to reduce rust risk but the fuel goes off quicker than the old stuff and it is easier to add good fuel to it to improve combustibility when returning to the road. A call that has to be made by the owner.

Nah will be fine, get some heat in and they will soon be back to normal

I never fill the tank as it just goes bad, 63 litres of old fuel isnt a very good spend

my escort been stored last 2 years in the garage, leave battery discconected and every now n then roll it out and start it up and let it tick over for a few mins, and it seems to have been fine

out of interest- with the trickle charger, you leave it connected and trickle charger on that correct ?

how much is a trickle charger and a suitable (cheap as pos to do the job) solar charger ? i could waterproof one and put a cable going to the roof and leave it sat there, no overlooking buildings or anything and its quiet

i got my solar trickle charger from maplan for £19 an its still good over 4 years later.
just keep mine on the parcel shelf with the lead in to the boot and just connect it when i go away to work and it works fine altho that is only a month or 2 at a time

Surely bottle tops or steels would be a good cheap option for saving you tyres?

Depends how big your brakes are, I dont have that option.
My garage isnt big enough to get both sides of the car Jhonno, otherwise I would take the wheels off and oil up the discs and calipers
