I know its not E30 related, but they guy does own one...

A mate as got an E34 525i sport and the alarm immobiliser is playing up, it's a BMW alarm.

Anyone know where these are located within the car and also where the fuel pump relay lives.

I'm going to visit the owner over the weekend and it's 100 miles away so as much info as possible to help me would be cool.

Thanks

The relay is under the cover in the drivers side of the engine bay next to the ECU.

It should have the following wires

Constant +
ignition on +
signal wire from ECU which is -
out put wire which is +

Sorry i can't remember the colour of the wire's or the location of the alarm.

Cheers mate, I've been rummaging about on google and found some info out.

Do you know if the alarm cuts the starter circuit when engaged as his car will crank but not start.

I'm hoping it's just something silly like a fuel pump relay.

Not sure TBH, it could be hooked up to isolate all sorts of circuits.

Check for a spark as it could be hooked up to the coil ?

Or wet plugs might point to the coil circuit to ?
