316 Carb M10 timing chain

Just contemplating about changing my timing chain but read back on some of the relevant topics and thinking of just replacing the tensioner solves alot of the ticking noise and smooths the engine is this true and how many tensioners are there on my m10.

There is one tensioner on thte m10, never heard of an m10 breaking its chain.
