Just got the renewal through on my Motorsport cab, its on a classic policy from Lancaster. Its gone up from about £165 to £300

. Quick call to RH Insurance I can get an equivalent policy for £111!
RH provide free salvage retention if the unthinkable happens. Only slight snag is for agreed value (which is included automatically) they want an independent valuation - anyone got any ideas where I might get this from at a sensible price? Doesn't appear you can get them through the BMW car club - or am I misktaken?
Any suggestions?

im in the same boat mate my insurance is with lancaster they bumped it up to £500 from £235.and the reason was they only cover cars now over 25 years old ... just called rh and they quoted me £237 but for an agreed valuation they want an independent specialist to send them a quote ..... any other companies the zoners can recommend

If you are a BMWCC member,please send to head office the following;
Detailed photo's showing all aspects of the car,including the underside if you consider it to be of concours standard.
A detailed written apraisal of the car,detailing recent(ish) work carried out.
A cheque for £15.
As you live close to the guy who does the valuations,he may well contact you to view the car,these things are always better viewed with independant eyes!
Hope this helps.

I'd be tempted to chase that up... you don't want them claiming something like "Oh we sent a letter querying the value last year and you never replied" if the worst happens.

This is what I did with the cabbie for Peter Taylor,but the OP did enquire about BMWCC valuations!

I meant chase up as in "make sure they've accepted it" not "that's a better way to get a valuation.

Thanks, didn't realise BMWCC did valuations. Was thinking about joining, looks like this will be the final nudge to join....
