What's your plans E30 wise now?

Mine is get the sport repaired, use that as normal car and then try and find a cheap white 2dr 325i as a track car project.

hmmmm

have i the space!

sport has the beginnings of 2.7 with alpina bottom end, do i bin the high comp pistons and go turbo 2.7?! Or stop somewhere and just have a good 2.7, which are so much fun as they are

325SE- has so many extras on it it's scary, plan is to drive it when the sport is off the road for the 2.7. Then when time permits strip the bastard of all its options (and it has EVERYTHING!!) and fit them to the sport to give it mega spec.

Problem is the car is too good to break

Choices choices

Theres a calpso red touring where i live with M-tech kit would make an awsome project, as it is a 318 with 14 bbs! So much potential for it. One of 3 tourings in this colour too...........................

In no particular order...

headgasket
fit 6-branch
under bonnet detailing
cure water leaks
bodywork (sort rust & respray)
rear bushes
refurb 15" MIMs & fit

alternatively, buy a late 316 shell and transplant the morsels

or alternatively sack the E30 and buy a 16V MK2 Golf

Plans - yes, cash - err...no but generally, I need to:

- MOT (Nov. 17th)
- oil service / winter service
- sort out little things like blown bulbs, blowing exhaust , new thermostat etc.
- fit chrome dial rings (still in the packet)
- fit all red rear clusters (still in the box)
- fit M3 rubber bonnet seals (still in the packet)
- H & R Cup Kit (35mm all around)
- 16" Original Alpinas
- ICE install
- SATNAV
- OE front centre arm-rest
- OE illuminated gear knob (not sure yet)
- proper German D plates
- Xenons
- heated seat elements etc.
- Air Con (seems a v. difficult and expensive job)

That's a pretty long wish list, but I'll get there eventually as I love my Sport.

Like many others I wanted to get a quicker steering rack, but rather than the usual E36 rack I have gone for something far more idiotic and I've got a supa-quick 2.4 turn lock-to-lock unit on the way. 'That sounds good!' I hear you say, but the best bit? It's not even power assisted!

Fear not I've been on a special spinach diet which has improved my forearm strength no end, so I'll still be able to park ok. Here I am:

Just the usual. Chip, BBTB, lowerered and uprated suspension, sports seats, m-techII kit, m-techI wheel, short shifter, boot spoiler?. Might take a while due to lack of funds.

Are they sport seats with the side bolsters and leg extensions with the diaginal stripe patten

My touring has done 66,500 miles and all the seats reflect that, they are mint. I was only after the front seats as the rears are perfect and the are different to a 4 doors as they are split folding

Are you actively selling or they just lying around as I could be interested after christmas as I "may" get a christmas bonus but I start a new job in January with more money

This is what im after but obviously mint. I know tall order but anything less wouldnt match the rest of the interior

They have done 137,000 miles and are as good as they get, they are in a car i have.

Once I've found a decent job with good pay I will be looking to get a nice touring as a daily driver, I can get my hands on an E36 TDS engine and these can be quite easily tuned to give 200bhp.

I might be tempted to convert my current E30 into a track car.

Just need to get a decent job first though

I've came up with a list of possible mods/repairs for my touring-some are a bit "whacky"

Suspension

H&R cup kit/Lowering springs (depends on cash!)

2 new front balljoints

Exhaust

New standard Exhaust

Interior

2 door Front Seats

New Rear "cubbyhole" covers

Wheels and Tyres

4 new tyres (currently winging their way from camskills)

BBS cleaned up and possibly refurbed (on the cheap! Ԛ£50 a wheel=no!)

Engine

325i TB/Manifold

Zone Chip

LPG kit (if cheap enough)

Exterior

Finish off removal of rear wiper (still hole covered with insulation tape after 8 months 8O )

2 new front wings

Respray (yes ALPINE WHITE!)

Diff

2.97 diff off an ETA (no more 4k rpm at 80mph for me!)
