Hi all, i have three wires on my e36 a/c rad fan and am just looking for confirmation on what they are? i'm assuming that one is ground and the other two are two speeds?
if this is the case i can only get the fan to run in one speed so do i need to fit a resistor or something or should i just run it one speed?
I also have the e36 318ti 80/88 degree fan switch, and an 88 degree thermostat.
I'm thinking of running the wiring in through a relay to be switched by pin 2 (88 degree i believe). and power up the fan only when the rad gets hotter than 88 degrees.
does this sound correct or are you guys having the 80 degree pin operating the fan?

E36 fan has the resistor built in, so I reckon you only have high speed if the resistor is gone. If this is the case just wire it up as normal and it will come on high at 88°

Ahh, cheers dan, i've sorted a little circuit up now too just using it as a one speed fan with it kicking in at 88 degrees. when i tested the system on my hob with a boiling pan it kicked in at 88 and the fan stopped running at approx 82 degrees, so i think that'll be ok.
