ive replaced the struts on my track e30 for uprated lowering ones and put in 60mm lowering springs. the drivers side f+r sit mint (defo 60mm) as does the pass front but the passenger rear is the same as the standard ride height.

the springs are identical on the rear next to each other and defo shorter than the oem ones placed side by side by a good inch. wtf? it looks well on the pi55 like the jacks still under the bloody thing. no likey :x

ideas? :(

Swap the springs over and see if it lifts the other side.

surely the shorter spring would sit the trailing arm up higher/car lower, regardless of knackered bushes though resulting in a drop of some sort? they prob are knackered though from what ive read on here lol :?

Stick some pics up.

Two brand new springs that are identical wont/shouldn't give an uneven ride height.

Pics would help :D

This will only take half an hour and will rule out the springs at fault.

yes this would be the obvious choice but i did put them side by side before fitting and they are identical. this obviously wouldnt rule out the loading though but whats the chances of having 2 identical springs that sit uneven? ill have a go anyway but i wont be able to swap them till monday. im also trying to get the m50 conversion on it finished aswell lol. trying times :D

right managed to get some pics. bear in mind that the car has no exhaust, interior, spare wheel, or engine/ prop in atm so the drivers side is raised by approx 1/2''. the passenger side is roughly the same height it was with or without all this stuff in bar the interior which was already removed.

Tricky with the photos being from slightly different angles (picky, I know).
Could you do a shot from the back with the car parked on flat ground?

Your right the angle of the pic doesnt help.

I think i would do what Lee said earlier in the thread. Swap springs and see the difference.

What make are the springs? not PI are they? if so, most likely dodgy batch or mix up... i know a few people that have had issues with PI springs

yeah im gonna swap the springs over on monday see what happens anyway. soz about the angle didnt realise it was that critical. the cars proper on the slope :? those pics were dragging it from one garage to another. ill get more on monday in detail before and after swappage from back to front. you never know that might solve the problem - maybe lol :)

surely it makes sense to build the car before trying to decide the ride height ?

my guess is you have a fooked beam bush on one side,

yes im aware that the ride height will alter after its gained weight  im trying to get an early resolve as to reasons why so i can crack on after the build instead of scratching my head at the last hurdle.

the drivers side was 1/2'' lower than the pic before all that kit was removed, and bear in mind this is a track car so the interior for example isnt going back in anyway. so why didnt the passenger side drop as the drivers has with a physically shorter spring in was the big q. its not mm perfect ride height im bothered about atm its more a case of what would stop the car dropping with a shorter spring in? causes?
anyways, you reckon the beam bush aswell? ill eliminate the spring loading scenario 1st by swapping them over but youre with the majority on beam bush.... ill have a closer look on monday. cheers for the input e30, dezzy aswell :)

i could go stevie style and weld in a new arch below the original to make it look lower... bang on! winkeye
