I thought it was about time I checked and adjusted the valve clearances on my e30.

Starting on cylinder 1, I noticed straight away it did'nt have a big enough clearance. No problem, loosen the retaining nut and adjust the eccentric.

My promlem being the hole in the eccentric is already to far around, so cant physically get anything in there to adjust it.

What do I do now? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

I'd try to work it round with a magnet, or try holding it in place when loosening the nut, but allowing it to come round when tightening the nut a few times

I think he means he's lost the hole to put the allen key into because it's turned so far?

yep, sounds as though it needs rotating back around.

yeah its like its been adjusted so many times the holes done a 180, totally opposite where you would expect to find it.

As soon as I've got all the expanding foam out of my hair I'm gunna go av a nother goosey.
