Hi I've heard that a vanos unit on the 3.0 litre m3 can be set so that it permanently has an aggressive cam if anyone has heard or know someone that knows how to do it if you could get in touch would be a great help thanks

Well you remove the Vanos unit, blank it off and weld the sprocket full advance.

All it is is that a friend of mine has bought an m3 e30 rally car and it don't look lime the banks is working so we were gonna set it at advanced then run a dta or megasquirt system thought that would be the easiest route will it loose hp by fixing the vanos like that

It'll lose bottom end and midrange.. So not ideal for a rally car.

What banks aren't working?

definitely better off with the vanos working power wise and driveability wise too. the only advantage of welding it on full advance is to have a lumpy idle so it sounds like a rally car does haha.

You can control the vanos yourself in case you want to set it to max or min or inbetween.

No vanos delete needed!
With great challenges comes great engineering.
