I did swap it for the other one I had which didn't make any difference, I have since found another however on my old M20 loom that I could try.

Have you taken them out and bridged them to see if it runs?

Bridge the DME relay? I have bridged the fuel pump relay and that gave me power to the fuel pump. Tried 3 different fuel pump relays and neither of them would get power to the fuel pump

bridging the dme relay will permenantly feed the ecu and if it worked it would mean you have no ignition feed from the ignition switch to activate it.

Do you have 12 volts at the coil with the ignition on?

Yes I do. I started a thread in Technical Help earlier, daimlerman kindly gave me a few pointers on what to test http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=202151.

I'll try the other DME relay I found and check if I have a feed to the relay with the ignition on tomorrow after work

I have a permanent live feed to the DME relay, and both 87 pins become live when ignition is switched on.

EDIT - I have a spark. I have changed the fuel pump and DME relays. Still no power to the fuel pump when cranking, but definitely has a good spark

I'm borrowing another ECU tomorrow to see if that does the trick, hopefully it will start then!

It started at last! :woohoo:

Tried another ECU and it fired up! (Thanks Tom :thumb:) Idles a bit rough at the moment but a few of the vacuum hoses look a bit suspect so I'll sort them. Had to put the centre section of exhaust on to quieten it down a little as my elderly neighbour is ill at the moment and didn't want to scare the crap out of her! But it still sounds like a beast

Oil light went out fine, everything works that I've tried so far. To say I'm happy is an understatement, I can't wait to take it out for the first drive, going to tax it start of August.

First trackday will be end of August :)

Thanks :)

Got a few more bits to finish off, fit the exhaust properly, put a front wing back on, bleed the clutch etc. But I'm very relieved it runs!

Not yet Lee, flat out with work again, managing to get half-hours here and there to work on it. Am hoping Sunday will be free so I can finish it!

All thats left to do is replace the couple of leaking crush washers on the PAS pipes, bleed the clutch system, finish soldering the c101 plug wiring, and just tidy up the wiring. So not much at all really. Tax being bought on Saturday morning :D

You have come a long way since I last checked in.
Soldering the C101 wires is about a 20min job, so chop chop. :D

Got a new soldering iron from Maplin yesterday, soldering was going well until the last wire when the crappy thing stopped working! So couldn't finish the soldering, and the car has a big puddle underneath it cos of this shite weather so couldn't do anything under the car! So not a very productive afternoon :x

Got a couple of days off work, so finished putting the car back together today, just need to make up a couple of brackets to hold the air filter housing and washer bottle in place. Taxing the car in the morning as long as a small test drive goes ok first, if everything is ok I'll be taking it upto Retro Rides gathering on Sunday :D

She's not well at the moment :(

Idle is hunting from 1500 down to nearly stalling, and doesn't rev very cleanly, almost like its missing slighly. I've had a good look around the vacuum pipes and ICV pipe, and I have found a couple of small splits, hopefully this is the cause. I also have new plugs and leads to try, and I'll clean out the ICV. Hope it's not the dizzy cap and rotor arm as they are fookin expensive!

You and me both mate :)

iirc my dizzy and rotor was around £50 from GSF, both Bremi items too.
ECP wanted 70 odd.

I've been following your thread mate, must be very frustrating! I've only looked at ECP for prices of dizzy cap so far, my Dad has an account with GSF so might just get all new bits and then its done, not planning on getting rid of my e30 for a while so worth the investment I think!

Oh, and the heater blower fan doesn't work, everything else does though so I'm going to have to take another look at the c101 wiring I think as this can be an issue on m30 swaps from what I have read!

There's only 3 wires to cut and reconnect on the C101, so maybe one might be wrong

He's using a late loom with a different plug Rav.

What about interior lights and windows?

You need to dig the green wire (pin 15) out of the body side of the c101 and earth it.

Interior lights and windows perfect! So hopefully its something silly like the fan stuck where I've taken so long to do the conversion... :o:
