Despite what I may have written in error previously, I have an M50 single VANOS block with the M50 manifold BBTB. Crank and rods from the M52. Making it a stroked M50B28. Lightened flywheel. 3.38:1 LSD. 328 box.
I will soon be getting the head ported and polished and the engine balanced.
What would you guys suggest I do tuning-wise? I like usable power. Retaining some degree of low-end power is preferable.
I have forced induction in mind at a later date... I'd love to get Dbilas ITBs but they cost a hell of a lot for what they actually do!
I've been thinking different cams and management.
Any suggestions?
I spoke to Fowler a while ago about the chip that A-tech do. Is it a good option and would I be 'future-proofed' for when I go forced induction?
Thanks.
Help needed for M50B28 mods please...

I'd get an M50 inlet manifold fitted on it, it's meant to help the M52's breath a bit better because it's less restrictive.

M50 inlet..
If you are going F/I then mild cam upgrade only..
You can run M50/52 vanos on most aftermarket ECU's, it is on or off I believe, not continuously variable like on the S50/54 lumps.
Chip would not be future proof. At all.
Don't get the ports polished. Who is doing the work?
ITB's would be a waste of time if you are going F/I also.

I can't tell you the company name that is doing the port polish, I simply have a bloke's number. I could easily find out. He was recommended to a friend who is having his Capri engine fully rebuilt.
Why would I not want the head work done? Would it change the CR or simply do little?

I never said don't do headwork, but polishing inlets is not desireable. Polished exhaust ports is ok.

I doubt you would see any difference from messing with the exhaust ports, ITB's wont do anything for low end grunt.
If this is running on M50B25 loom/ecu the best mod you can do to your engine is to get rid of it and fit M52B28 loom/sensors/ecu
You will notice an instant improvement.
