Thanks all,

Looking at just keeping the body and trim stock, maybe fit some better suspension and nicer bbs style wheels.
Subtle upgrades and keep the body as clean as possible.

Any ideas greatly appreciatted on suspension setup / wheel sizes??

16s and 40mm drop all round and leave the rest as BMW intended. It is VERY neat and tidy for it's age

THIS

As already mentioned 15" BBS wheels

Eibach or H&R Springs ( 35-40mm drop )

Bilstein B4 Shocks ( you might want to upgrade to 51mm front struts at the same time )

Replace ALL rubber suspension components/mountings with BMW/lemforder equivalents

Inside the car a pair of sport seats in the correct cloth and a Tech 1 steering wheel is all it needs.

Very nice clean looking motor

Thanks for all the comments.
Capri rob and Dezzi, I may need some of your knowledge regarding the upgrades in suspension, as I see you mentioned 51 mm struts, why do you use these and are they a straight swap, off which models?

Thanks

51mm struts are an upgrade mate. I have swapped to them, Then fitted WMS 4 pot brakes, B8 shocks, H&R springs, -15mm top hats and M3 eccentric bushes. There is a slight improvement in handling. winkeye

It all depends who far you want to go, and how deap your pockets are.

I needed to though :D

Dezzy, I will have to get some part numbers from you as I would like to do a similar thing with mine.
Think the front could drop 5mm more than the rear when I drop it as the front rides too high.
Maybe 35mm rear and 40mm front.
We must talk this over.

Mine is a chromie and they are a biatch to lower properly.

Its about -50mm

-35mm H&R spring with -15mm drop hats. Rears are custom -50 springs made to the H&R spring rate. 8)

Well its looking proper nice.
Im putting money into a major service and cambelt / waterpump this month as a safeguard.
So will have to wait till next month to do springs/shocks.
Would be nice to have coilovers so I can set the ride height just right.
We will see.
I did enquire to spax about coilovers and they wanted my front struts to modify.

What is a good set of not over priced coil overs?
Spax are £8 - 900 and I am looking to spend about half that but something that is half okay?
