Well I decided on Saturday night the time has come to take the Touring off the road for a full resto & rebuild.

It has given me nearly 10 years family & work service and over 105,000 miles so I think it should get what it deserves.

Here is a list of known faults that need doing, and howlong they've so far waited!

Central locking,inoperative,18 months (have the parts though!)
Oil level sensor,melted & inoperative,4 years.
Incorrect engine mount,4 years.
Broken check control panel,2 years.
Broken headlight mount,8 years.
Broken roof aerial,1 year.
Brake pad warning sensor, nearly 10 years.
Inoperative seat runners,2 years.
Broken glove box,4 years.
Exhaust hung with wire,3 years.
Missing washer bottle top, lots of years!
Cracked Clutch resevoir top,10 years.
Leaking power steering,months.
Broken gearbox/exhaust bracket,4 years.
Wipers,tempremental settings,2 years.
Underdash panel missing,3 years.
Inoperative headlight wash wipe, one side 10 years, the otherside about 5 years.
Sticky electric sunroof,5 years.
Masticked up AFM pipe,8 years.

There is probably a few things i've missed, but you get the idea, stupid thing is,nothing above is terribly difficult or expensive to put right

The below is a list of worn out, dirty,or rusty things....

Headlining, years of smoking has turned it from grey to a Sport black colour.
MTec2 Steering wheel,stitching coming undone.
My heel has worn through the OEM fitted drivers floor mat.
Seats,front & rear grubby.
Carpet, well, just look in the bottom of your wheelie bin and it's about the same.
Alloys,no heavy curbing but need refurb.
MTec gear knob,worn out.
Gear stick gaitor,worn out.
I don't need to list rust, it wants a bit of welding, but it's mostly general corrsion and day today wear & tear.
Bumpers need tiding.
Mudflaps ( I like them) need refitting properly.

That'll do for now, here is some pics..........

First thing is a trip to see modifying maestro,Kingcruizer see what can be done with the body in terms of respray

Second thing is to build myself another garage,I'm fortunate to have the space and means to do this nice and cheap and have a dedicated restoration area :D

Finally I did this, been talking and wanting to do it for a long time,a dn now I have the Transit and the Missus has her Audi I can take the Touring off the road for as long as it takes.

I modified some stables for mine back in the day once I'd moved on the goats and strengthened the fences. We're on the same page I think.

Having started work on a couple of oxford allen scythes (would have been good for your paddock) it's now in here:

Very much so,except I don't have goats to deal with! Thats one thing thats been difficult with my land, finding a cheap way to improve the ground. So far i've just tortured myself using a rotovator 8O
I do like that stable block
Still,if I don't go to bed i'll have no energy to do anything!

Ha Ha indeed Sir,just come in for coffee before begining to strip down my rear subframe,oh I'm looking forward to this 8O

Failure sheet is this.......

Rear subframe bushes
Trailing arm corroded through
Brakes ineffiecent

Washers ineffiecent
Rear tyres poo
Lower front ball joint excess movement

All feasable stuff though :D
