Rav's car on the cover defos had some action. It must have been hard to find the exact French shade to match.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the M30 being old as the hills and such an anchor that it may have developed its own gravitational field...

Bit of bufty action today, car hasnt been washed since first week of May as I just get sick of looking at water marks on it from the wax not lasting very long, couldnt be arsed with clay and I dont have any anyway so washed it with some hardcore wash&wax and went round it with some Zaino all in one

It got most of the water marks out but whats left is so small you wouldnt notice it TBH.
Followed by two coats of Poorboys paste wax.
This car is a git to polish/wax, I have never been able to get a finish without leaving some smear marks behind, these are the worst I had from ages ago with some £40 wax

But I think ive finally got the hang of it, before and after each coat of polish or wax ive been going round with quick detailer, makes the job twice as long but the results are worth the effort

All finished and ready for Pod

Earlier this week id stripped down a rear bumper I had from Capri-Rob when he broke his bronzit chariot, it had been replaced with a genuine one at some point due to a rear ender and the repairers were so kind to give it a squirt of waxoil

I took it all apart and cleaned each section with TFR and then petrol to get the tar spots and grime off. The RH finishing cap had gone dull so a phone call to the dealers and £18 later I had a brand new one to fit.
Here it is built up with lashings of fresh waxoil

Rust free FTW

While it was off I took the opportunity for some water trap cleaning, rear vents popped out -

Wiped round with some WD40

Excuse the GM battery..

Brushed them round with waxoil before the cleaned vents went back in.

The boot carpets have to be pulled out so I also had a quick brush round any other bits and took the long plastic trim off that the bootlid closes onto and gave that a clean and waxoil session, this is above the rear lights under the boot seal

Just in the left of the pic is the new cap that covers the join

Im well happy with how its cleaned up, I considered buying some rubber end caps and possibly a new rubber trim strip but those 3 parts would have totalled £200 odd and you have to draw the line somewhere....

Only a couple of grazes to the rubber strip which I can live with, there was also a bit of a dent which I knocked out with a rubber mallet and some bits of wood

Last but not least, 370mm Tech 1

Bring on the Pod

I wonder if it will better the 13.7 from York

I really am fooked today after that lot, there is some serious graft in black paint that shines

If the time ever comes for paintwork it will be getting clear coat!

having done my black e39 for the pod, i know that black is a bitch to get right. you're on the right track with zaino and using a quick detailer to help between coats and get rid of any smears/trails left.

but as i said its looking good !

13.7 so far mate, same as I got at York earlier this year so I think thats about as quick as it will go in its current state.
Will be having some live mapping once ive sorted a new exhaust which will do it some good.

Just lately ive been thinking about drilling the alloy inlet manifold,,,,,
