Took my car in for its MOT. I knew the exhaust would fail, so I got George at Autobavaria in Newcastle to supply and fit a new middle and back box,pre MOT. The exhaust was 170 quid,so not to painfull, compared to an OE one from ECP, or a stainless system.The exhaust looks,hangs,sounds ok.
The car failed on both jacking points.
I must admit I was a bit worried, but after an inspection by Rob at RH Autos in Birtley, he assured me it was just surface rust, so I entrusted him with the work, and 120 quid later,the car passed its partial retest and now has another 12 months.
The car was inspected at National Tyres at Westgate Road in Newcastle, the reason I mention this,is that the inspector has a E30 318is. It often helps if the inspector is an enthusiast, he gave me loads of tips about the various advisories that I had.
