yes thats the one mate, bmw are suprisingly cheap on some stuff, i bought quite a few small parts for mine the otherday from bradford bmw and was amazed at the prices.
i tried gsf for the same parts and they none apart from a serp belt

part number is 35 41 1 160 611

i needed an M50 intake boot so first stop for me is always ebay, found one on there the guy wanted £20 for a used one and £5 p&p i didnt think it was extortionate but i was about to ring bmw for some manifold gaskets etc so i thought i would get a price while i was on the phone.

^thats what I payed for mine, some parts at the dealers are pricey but I've been pleasantly supprised by some of the prices of parts I've ordered from them 8)

you only need the m50 intake boot if your doing an m50 manifold conversion, it just makes it easier to route the ccv and icv straight to the boot

Its pretty simple in situe tbh, I've had mine off twice now and its easy enough.

Its also a hell of a lot easier to drop the engine in minus the inlet! 8)

He does have a point about the hidden ponies though kev winkeye

as i've become unemployed after working for the same company for 13years i'm kind of struggling to justify the swap at all so i think the m50 inlet will have to wait for a while yet. but there is one down the road from me going for £80. hmm. no sensibleness will prevail. probably. for a bit. definitely.

Mate I got layed off aswel its a right kick in the arse aint it! :(

But with the standard m52 inlet it will still put out over 200lbft but won't produce more than 193bhp up top. If you don't go round raging your car I think it will be livable for you for now as she will have the torque low to mid range 8)

This is an excellent piece of advice that I wish I had been given before I dropped my M52 in! It's possible to do with the engine in situ, but a complete biatch!

In the middle of doing this job now, unfortunately with the lump already in. Was just looking for a bit of advice on the subject of throttle cables, Does the cable, once clipped into the bulkead, need to be clipped to anything along the way from the intake, or have people just left it loose? should it just sit anywhere between the bulkhead and engine?

I usually drop it into the clips on the back of the M52 plastic cam cover, the lambda wires are supposed to be in here

Ok great I'll try that, cheers Dan! where to the lambda cables go through? under the inlet? should these be fixed/cable tied tight?

Lambda wires go over the fuel injector wiring tray, little clips hold them down, then just round the back of the engine, I dont fix them into the steel bracket on the back of the head as there is not room to get them out again should you need to as the engine is obviously very close to the E30 bulkhead
