Right..

On my list of to do's there's the drivers door lock/barrel. What happens is...

You turn the key left. nothing happens. You turn it right. Nothing happens. If you've locked the car from the boot ( the only way to lock it now) you turn it right, it unlocks. The nleft again.. nothing.

Now the fun part!

I took the door card off, had a poke inside, undid the bolts holding the relay (?) to the door, and push/pulled it against the rod. It works!! tried it a few times.. Sweet! locks unlocks. Tried it with the door pin after I screwed the relay back.. guess what! You guessed it.. it worked!

Me cheering like a happy monkey.. puts the door card back on, and the does it up all tight..... Now, when you move the door pin, it only moves about 5mm.. not enough to move the relay. (Like it was before this exercise!)

But now.. ( I like buts! ;) ) I can turn the key and it unlocks, then turn again, it locks then nothing!

Help! I need to lock my car but have to do it thru the boot. Is there a reason why the rod won't move thru the door shell? The pax side moves up/down, but can't lock it ( Different barrel!). The pin can be pushed down with the door closed and when held, will lock the door, but then unlock it again. I can't see into the cavity ( no tools) but it seems to me that it is caught on something.. but no idea what!!

Anybody?? Please??
