I agree mate.

The only pre facelift cars that need the tech 1 rear are Tech 1 sports

Jhonno your way out of touch mate, too much time spent bumming about in E36's, your losing the E30 style :)

I also like the Tech 1 spoiler - gives it a sharp-edged, racy look which suits the front air dam nicely. 8)

I'm going to rock around with the tec1 on for a few days, will give the car a wash some time and take some better pics and then decide if it's staying or not.

The rubber is in excellent condition, but the plastic bit needs a respray as there are a few scuffs and chunks here & there.

They seem to make £120 on the bay, so that's where it will be heading if I don't stick with it.

I'm going to have to get the eibach front springs fitted and some replacement front dampers so i can do away with the rock hard B6's, but looking at the arch gap at the back, it certainly doesn't look as good now as it did on the 55mm drop.

Still knocking one out to E28's :o

I also came across a very early Bahama Beige metallic 4dr chromie the other night

What springs on the front at the mo? B6's are fine, standard tech 1 equipment remember.
Maybe softer springs are what you need if you think its too hard

The springs are AVO -55mm mate, as I was on a 55mm drop front & rear.

The back end was soft as hell on account of the shagged Koni dampers I had fitted previously, the new B4's on the back have firmed it up without making it silly.

I honestly believe it is the B6's mate not the springs. I live in speed hump central and it's utter gash going over speed humps and crashes through pot holes etc and just feels way too firm, the front almost feels "choppy"

I'm turning into a fat old cooont and like a bit of comfort as at the moment the car isn't actually pleasant to drive for a refined individual like myself :)

Remember those springs are for a 6 pot M20, yours is closer to the weight of a 4 pot

I was nursing a pan handle all last night after Steve put me onto this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 664wt_1185

Sadly although immediately sending the seller a message asking for his number so I could go and look at it and give him a deposit or the cash there & then, he got back to me this morning saying someone came immediately last night and bought it.

Went and met a local zoner last night and whilst driving back I was giving the chromie a good razzle and it did put a smile on my face.

Took the chromie out tonight for a quick run and the ferkin front brakes are sticking on for some unknown reason, you can feel the resistance as you are driving along and the brake pedal has no travel before you have uber stopping power.

This is not good as the inlaws have arrived tonight and are here until Sunday

Doubtful I'm going to get that looked at until one night after work next week. Always a drama on the run upto the pod :-x

yeah, if you bang it in neutral you can feel it pulling the car up. I rolled upto a set of lights slowly and it stopped itself, front wheels felt hot when I got home.

I reckon after about 5 miles they would weld themselves on/ catch fire like the rears did before.

Totally bizarre, they have been fine up until tonight.

Once you have stopped slacken the MC nuts slightly and see if the brakes release

Yeah, I'll give that a whirl mate.

Really wierd for it to suddenly happen. Remember I have no spacer in my servo and had to actually shorten the rod in the servo as it was too long even after I had wound the nut in all the way.

Tech 1 rears are fine but you need skirts and at a proper front spoiler to make it work IMO
