I'm sure all of you guys will eventually get to where I am now, std parts are starting to wimp out, which to be fair is excellent as they are under 50%+ more stress now.

I thought I had some clutch slip the other day when I upped the boost to 10psi, tonight in 5th it did the same, or I was spinning up? (which is dif to tell with a open diff)

But the smell was there afterwards this time, so I guess I've maxed it out, so does anyone have a source of uprated e30 clutches?

I'm in two minds, get a race one, live with the issues or get a mild one and still have a limit as such.........any thoughts?

Next will be engine mounts I suppose, bushes etc, but one thing at a time for me :D

(tis satisfying to say I've maxed my clutch out, never done that before  )

Sorry i've got nothing useful to add Mark but the above did make me laugh, but i'm pretty sure an old granny could do the same-You know the type pulling away from the lights 4,500rpm slipping the clutch like a good un!

I also don't have much helpful to offer, but do have a question:

How new is the clutch in your car? (I'm hoping it was fairly old and that new ones will stand a chance!)

Sure I've read that some places will take a clutch and rivet higher friction linings onto them for not too much money.

Might be worth taking it easy for a while untill the problem's resolved just to avoid cooking the flywheel 8O

Alex, as old as the car from what I can tell from the records I have.

The yanks do say that the std one will die after 250bhp, I'd guess I've past that now, RR will tell tho :D (not till a new clutch tho :x )
