i take it thats its a road car as well or is that insurance just for track days? if it is a road car a bit of they costs would have been incurred anyway, so its not to bad, ive got the red stuff pads on my touring and theyre a good choice especially if matched to ebc discs, im planning on doing trackdays as well but might wait till winters over. rwd in the wet with over 300bhp is an accident waiting to happen winkeye

Thanks guys for the interest, in answer to the Q's so far

Fuzzy - Yes Road car too, but will change insurance later..seen info on the forum re Norton insurance. good tohear the reds are good, look forward to trying them :D

dlatch33 - ssshhh don't mention extra costs, wife has the Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£ RADAR on...

Simon13 - Diet? Yep removed 240Lbs of weight and it made a serious difference, I've listed the weight of each item on another post (really sad hu?)! winkeye

I can't wait to get it on the track, and road driving should be fun too..

Planning trips to the UK in 2006. Anglesey (my original home) is 1st on my list

See my www (below) to see the car so far

Mine has been expensive too....

It is amazing how all the little things add up!

Tyres x 12 (at least!) = Ԛ£100's
8 Spare Wheels = Ԛ£120+
2 x Ferodo Front pads = Ԛ£200
2 x Pair of Discs = Ԛ£100
Full Stainless Exhaust system + decat = Ԛ£180
Induction Kit = Ԛ£30
Windscreen = Ԛ£150
Headlights + Sidelights + Indicators + Front Wing + Radiator = Ԛ£100
Secondhand lowered Springs + Shocks = Ԛ£50
CV Joint = Ԛ£55
Stripped interior = Nothing!

I'm sure theres more, but I can't thin of it now!

Using and abusing it on track = Ԛ£ Priceless

Well worth it!

Still to come...

Proper Race Seats + Harnesses = Ԛ£3-400?
Roll Cage = Ԛ£6-700
Decent Steering Wheel = Ԛ£100

Ouch. Plus the cost of track day entry!

But it's awesome fun. Love going past 'faster' cars.

People looking at the shed and laughing on way into the pits at Silverstone (Trax) and then looking quite suprised as I return back, in front of Imprezas/Evos/Clio Cups etc etc

Brilliant!

Can't wait for Donny!

As Andy says mate, it's not C/F, just Dolphin Grey.

That was me though in the touring, at Silverstone a couple of months ago.

There should be pics and vids in the appropriate section from that day, it was awesome!

240lb is a fair amount to save! Over 100kg!

Excellent work. Wish I had weighed all the stuff I removed!

Hi Fuzzy,

Each seat weighed 40Lbs, standard seats on mine though not Ric-arros!

See below for all items taken out of the 'white one'

This weekend stripped the interior found some rust but a quote from the body shop was Ԛ£120 (both corners of the front footwells gone from the outside -in) plus other bits.

Weight loss through taking out the interior - LOOSE loads of LBS..

Complete carpet 35Lbs
Front seats 40Lbs each (80Lbs)
Rear seat and back 40Lbs
Boot carpet & 2back door panels 10Lbs
Jack, Padding and centre consol 22Lbs
Spare Wheel 35Lbs
Rear parcel shelf speakers 6Lbs
Rear seat belts & mud flaps 6 lbs

TOTAL: 234 LBS (that's one serious fat bloke of a passenger kicked out!)

OK so the new seats are 8.3kg each but it's a serious reduction.
