e46 - e30 urgent quick question

Hi all, i know for a cheap e46 328i, a complete car, is this a suitable donor for an m52 conversion? i.e. is it still an m52 and is the box prop ews etc still the same?
much appreciate any help as i'm looking at it today

ah ok thanks for that, i'll try and work out how to tell the difference on google now, (just woke up off nights). it's a 1998 e46 about the earliest one i've seen. it even has an e36 steering wheel on it from factory!

Kev the m52 you need is single vanos mate.
Also I'm sure the e46 throttle is fly by wire not throttle cable

E30 friendly m52's have one vanos lump on the front of the head (intake side), hope this helps with your hunt

banging cheers ant. i found an e46 in blackwood with a full sequential lpg kit on it for a grand. if it was suitable that would have been breakably cheap. never mind, the quest is on for an e36 328i
