I've got a set of 4 stud RG Alpina reps and they have the same centre cap securing setup and I'm sure on the last pic it's RG on the wheel. I don't know what the Ronal stamp is like so can't be 100% about these not being genuine.
I'm no expert on these but would like to avoid any zoners buying these at that price if they're not genuine.

That's what I thought mate, ta.
Hopefully people will see this thread and not fork out 600 quid for a set of fakeys.
I've messaged the seller to tell them to update the ad with the correct info or I'll report it 24 hrs from now.

It'll be interesting to see the response from the seller, if I get one.

I'm by no means an expert but I'd suggest you save your money for a set of nice 16" wheels that'll make your car handle better and not worse. 17" Alpina reps do nothing for the handling of an E30. I know, I've tried it !sunnyr83 wrote:Rav (the wheel expert i hear) how much do a set of 4 17'' Alpina reps go for with new tyres? light kerbing but generaly in good condition..
Alpina and Hartge only made up to 16" wheels for E30s, there's a good reason for that.

Doesn't mean it was done intentionally though, let's give the vendor a chance. If it were me selling them before I had learned about these wheels I'd want a chance to rectify the mistake.tonybtonyb wrote:The seller is clue less

Know exactly what you mean about the handling, i have a set of 17's on my new e30 and want shot of them for 15'' bbs or 16'' lenso's. Just want to know what i can get for them price wise.Topblag wrote:I'm by no means an expert but I'd suggest you save your money for a set of nice 16" wheels that'll make your car handle better and not worse. 17" Alpina reps do nothing for the handling of an E30. Sorry, didn't realise you were selling and not buying.
Personally I'd put them on ebay and take what you can get, that's where I sold mine and got more than I was offered on here for them.
The young uns like the big wheels and clearly don't care about the handling.

Mine were new, with new Toyo Proxes. Wheels and tyres did 100 miles and I sold them for 450 (chucking in a spare used one I'd picked up along the way). They cost me 600 all in.

I just let a set (of 5) go on here with 5mm's worth of Toyo Proxes on for £200, they weren't kerbed either until the f***ing courier delivered them!!!sunnyr83 wrote:Know exactly what you mean about the handling, i have a set of 17's on my new e30 and want shot of them for 15'' bbs or 16'' lenso's. ^ Set of what? Alpina's?
That is not a bad price at all i was thinking £200 tops, mine have brand new tyres and driven about 150 miles but alloys are slighty kerbed but not bad.

lol thanks rav, what about lenso's??
lenzos are nice, my friend has a set on his e30, they are staggered too, he had a bit of an issue with stretching tyres onto them.
personally i love the original bbs's, i have been offered alpinas before and decided not to take them, i aquired a nice fresh set of bbs rims i think the look the best, nice and original.

I have always liked and had bbs on all my e30's but love the lenso's aswell, didnt know about the strecthed tyres though, i take it that was his preference or??

Whats your budget????
Lenso's are "ok"
but I don't like or recommend them.
Issues are that the clear laquer, when chiped, will start to cloud and go milky very quickly.

If you Got "Haters",Then your doing something Right!
CR24v??? Where's it all gone?? LOL
sunny i just sold mine on for £250 and a previous set for the same a few months back
if the kerbing is not too bad you should get £250 easily

Back on topic..... Just had a response from the vendor....
"could you please tell me in what way do you think they are copies?? if you research ronald gmbh in google you will see that this company manufactured the wheels for alpina!!! sounds like you got too much time on your hands!!"
I think they're stretching some info into their version of the truth.
They've been reported now.

Rav my budget is whatever i get for the reps, but maximum 16'' for me.
Dezzy i will sort that pic out..... how large do you need it to see it?
Murphey i wouldnt mind £250.00 tbh, would get a mint set of bbs's for that.
Borbet b's
End of the day i drive a 4 door, these wheels bar the bbs look cool on coupes and tech 2 tourings.

Fake.
Should have a stamp in the centre that says ALPINA (as well as Ronal badging)

Centre caps are incorrect, do not have the proper lock/cover:

First introduced on the E36. Afaik, E30s never had Softlines.

Alpina Softlines had one hollow spoke, allowing the valve to be under the lockable cover thus not spoiling the rim edge:Davies31 wrote:Am I mistaken in thinking that the originals had a removable piece on the inner rim profile that hid the valve and cap?
Perhaps they didn't all have this? Anyone know?

Aye, they're not bad wheels IMO. Much better than the 17" reps.George wrote:To be fair, they've actually got 20 spokes, which is more than can be said of the BK reps.kieran325 wrote:Another sorry excuse for reps.

With correct centre caps, side by side (without looking under the cap) you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference.Topblag wrote:Aye, they're not bad wheels IMO.
