How do all, i've been wondering for a while what to do engine wise and i've come to the decision to stick an m52 in there.
one of my concerns is that i have single point lpg system which i want to keep and transfer (with a few adjustments) onto the m52. will this engine run ok on a single point system?
it is currently attached btw to my m20b25 and im running an OMVL reducer which should be up to the job and i have a blos also fitted but no closed loop lambda control at present.
cheers for your thoughts

I am wondering if I would be better to swap to a single point system on my E34 M50 as it happens, it seems the sequential im using chucks too much gas in at low revs/around town as it can get as low as 14mpg, on a good mway run I can get 24mpg

so it should be ok to run single point open loop on an m52 motor you reckon?

I cant see why not, you can get a blow back port that you fit into the plastic manifold which stops it exploding in a backfire.
The only thing that im not sure of is how the M52 ECU would react to no injectors

I have a single point on my 328 touring, and it has an injector simulator as part of the install

As jason said, a 6cyl emulator is what you need

How do they work exactly? I dont have an emulator on my M50, just cut the common power to the injectors via a relay on switchover and ive not had problems

Only a month late!
Emulator uses a few changeover relay contacts to disconnect each injector from the ECU, and to connect a resistor in place of each one. Current taken by the injector is still within limits, so the ECU is happy.
I have an E36 2.8 touring that's been running happily on single point injection for many years, although not in my ownership. No sign that the manifold has ever been replaced or any record of same in the sheath of paperwork that came with it, so i doubt if its ever had a serious blowback.

I didn't say I recommend it. There's potential for a catastrophic failure at any time.
The plan is to fit a M50 inlet manifold that I have, that is already fitted with sequential injectors, along with the rest of a front end kit, of course.
