t does have all the optional extra goodies, personal plate etc so i wont be selling lower than my reserve price, ive priced the car to sell at a sensible realistic price of £2250, even the re-spray cost more than that a couple years ago!!

I hope for max's health he hasn't sold it
if there wern't people like me,
with cars like mine,
who would you put down to make yourself feel better?

All this talk of criminal this and legally binding that - it's all nads. The plate belongs to the car and the owner of the car is max!
Would Keith have sold the car to him if he wasn't a decent zoner? If he wasn't as decent known zoner then Keith wouldn't have even considered letting the car go without putting his sentimental cherished plate on retention.
We're not talking about what's right and wrong legally we're talking about morally. Keith needs to have his plate back because it's what was agreed from the outset. If he doesn't then what a tosser Max is. His thought process is that the car was bought and he didn't realise it needed quite as much work as it did/does so this way is revenge on Keith for selling it to him!
Just my opinion!

Never quite as simple as that though where there's an agreement to the contrary...Falkster wrote:The plate belongs to the car and the owner of the car is max!
You're right, it's a moral dilemma, but that's only the case until the car is sold and the person to whom it is sold turns around and says "I bought it fair and square, it's my plate now!"

Oh no, I agree, but my comments before were intended to help the relevant parties discover their inner gentleman, with respect to honouring the verbal agreement, by highlighting the fact that if we get to the point where the car is sold then it is far from the end of the road as far as the original owner of the plate is concerned.Falkster wrote:But that's where we have found ourselves now Jay! If he was a stand up bloke we wouldn't be using the conversation pre sale would we?
Perhaps my comments were a little premature however everyone has their own "scare tactics" - a leg-breaking has been mentioned a number of times for example - mine just happens to be an intimate knowledge of the possible legal ramifications...
