nobody in the right mind would let that go for £500.00
I was offered a 54 plate 540i with everything on it, and i mean literally every extra available for £3.5K , , gutted as its probably worth more than that even now, owner only had it about 9months (from new) and was buying a Range Rover Sport Overfinch. 3.5k for a 9month old 540i.
should have taken it and sold it straight on.

Did they do face lift e39 540,s or are we talking e60? Wasn't they 545i,s?
I have seen reasonable e39 540 manuals for less than 2k

the e60 was out in 2004.

At first yes, although later on it was replaced by the 540i and 550i.
