I have a Safety Devices Cage, but I'm not sure if they are still going anyone know?
Pat Flynn who runs the RWD challenge for BMW's might be able to help try him on 07870 590884.

Safety Devices still exist. Also try RollCentre as they list the e30 cage on their site (and quite cheap too).
Let me know how you get on, as i'll be doing the same in a few weeks time.

Daily driver cages
What are your thoughts on the cages that you can use in a daily driver and then you bolt in the door bars when you are on the track? Has anyone got one like this fitted???
Are they as strong or similar to the standard cages being fitted to the total track car??
I'm in the process of looking
so would be interested to hear anyones thoughts / advice.
cheers

Just got quoted for the OMP one from Deamon Twonks, Ԛ£420 inc vat and delivery to the IOM and it's in stock
Safety Devices are now welded up in Poland and I have been told the quality is not as good as previous SD cages - JFYI

Sd cages look as good as ever. They told me that its loads cheaper, warehousing, labour etc, just transport thats dear. But worth it overall, I still rate SD cages. Looking at about Ԛ£590 + vat for Challenge cage.

There are usually insurance issues with fitting roll cages to daily drivers. If anybody has any first hand experience of this i too would be interested.

Hi,
I bought the OMP one for Ԛ£420 inc VAT and delivery from Deamon Twonks and it came in 3 days to the Island (not very exciting pic of it on my website - see www icon below). Quality is fine as far as I can see, all fittings in a pack with it.
It's now in the process of being fitted. Had to remove the slide mechanism to the sunroof but still able to tilt it to get some air into the car on those hot summer track days...
I'll fill you in further when it's all done and post some pics on my site too
Cheers

We ended up getting the omp one from DT for a very good price because of a foul up on orders....was told 2 weeks, then 6 weeks later found it had not been ordered...this was for the front only.
Mad thing they had one one on the shelf but was front and rear...so we took it.
Now this is supposed to be made for the BM with sunroof...
Not ours, sunroof eventually removed as it was never fitting in. I strongly suspect it was the no sunroof one really. Even now welded up it would be a gnats hair off the mechanism, let alone the trim.
Overall it's an ok cage, the mounting areas seem a bit off for the floor of the BM, half in mid air, but the welder has welded, it's not going anywhere, ever.
Next time around I'm going to push for custom cage, even though I held pursued the omp one this time
. It costs more, but I have a feeling it would fit, plus we can add more braces to it if we really think we need it.
The door bar is a bit of a swine though as it's a steep angle down from shoulder height, good for protection, bit of a swine getting in past our deep dish wheel, so quick release boss is now needed.
But it's ok to fit and does not need major surgery to fit to turrets etc, so all in all for 400 ish not bad safety fitment, hopefully we'll never test it.
Hope this helps.
