Hi
Been looking at this swap, however, I have only seen 1 manual V8 here down, an E34 540 with 5 speed manual here (New Zealand), all are autos.
Anybody seen this swap or any knowledge of this being done with the auto trans?? Prefer not to cut trans tunnel.
I have looked at buying a manual trans ex UK or USA, however the freight kills the price.
Are there any other manual g/boxes that can be used, or anybody produce an adapter kit to mount another trans behind the V8.
Cheers
Justin

If you decided to try a Toyota manual box with some sort of adaptor plate, I'd pick the R154 as the W58 is the weaker box, but is in more plentyful supply.
Maybe it's just me, but if I was putting a big torquey lump in, I'd probably keep the auto box and also save a load of grief & expense.

Surely shipping a bmw box over would be cheaper then trying to find a R154, arnt they rarer and cost a hell of a lot more?
