A good friend of mine is considering buying a Z3. What are the things to look out for, pro's/ con's?
Any particular problems to mention?

Thanks in advance............

TBH Grant, Not particulalrly clued up on the z3..

But I imagine it'll suffer from the common problems round about front suspension arms wearing, and obviously the 6pots may have vanos issues

Other than that, I dunno.

May be worth a foray to the BMWOCGB type sites- or a z3 specific forum?

E36 in a party frock...

They seem pretty bulletproof, guide I saw recently suggested rear window damage on the hood and possible leaks to the hood, but little else.
Rear top mounts got a mention, and if looking for a 4 pot,the twin-cam as used in the iS coupe was reccommended.

No idea on values,sorry!

Hope Stella enjoys one.... :D

they are ultra reliable, they suffer no big dramas. We've had our 2.8 for over 3 years might be 4 i'm not sure. its just had routine parts.

if you have no roof you need 6 cylinders, ours does 30mpg but small fuel tank limits its range to about 300 miles on a run. But i wouldn't use it on a run myself!

A good 2.8 can be had for £3500 so why have a crass 4 pot
