My mate has a C2 2.7, and is in need of a new manifold. He has asked me to source him one and for me to fit it for him. He doesnt want to get raped by BME for the privilage and so he said he'll pay me to do it.

What i need to know are the following:

Whats a good replacement 6 Brancher?
How much do BMW charge for a removal and refit of a manifold?
How much do i charge?
Time taken to do it?

this has all come about as he is tres tres busy what being a jetsetting photographer and just hasnt the time.

Any thoughts / advice mucho appreciated.

Thanks

I'm confused - if it's an Alpina, then you should put on an Alpina manifold... otherwise you'll be losing wodges of power.

Your other questions are nothing to do with E30s - rather they are moral questions? :)

Has to be an alpina manifold surely... Anything else would be a step down

Provided the manifold is replaced with one of similar quality , there shoud be no resale issues

what about a stainless alpina rep from sal ? or a BTB unit, be aware though if its a proper 'pina the downpipes and centre sections may need altering to fit.

Not all C2s in the UK had the 6 brancher anyways...... not the end of the world

Cheers guys for the feedback. Well as im sure you know an original 6 brancher would not come cheap, and so it is likely that a replacement of another make is going to be required.

Ant you mentioned Sal has a had some copy's made up. Do you know any idea on costs? Tell ya what i'll PM him.

Well just spoken to BMW and they said it will cost 1+1/2 hours labour = Ԛ£160 + VAT 8O

Cheers.
