Hi mate welcome to the zone!

Depends on where the rust is, is it near the windscreen seal, or is it further down toward the bonnet seal? If it's near the bonnet seal any good body shop should be able to repair by cutting out the bad bit and welding a new piece in place.
If it's nearer the windscreen then it's a windscreen out job, my local bodyshop uses a fitter to remove the screen, and is covered by insurance, if he breaks it, he replaces it.

As for how much it will cost, then it varies wildly depending on where in the country you are.

Hey dude

Thanx for the advice!

As for the rust it is in both areas you described! looks like its taken quite a battering!

How can you prevent it happening again?

Post up some piccies of the rust and hopefully we can see how bad it actually is and suggest a good course of action! :D
