Tyres

Dudes.....
Had to get a pair of tyres fitted in a hurry and the best the tyre place could offer were Lassa Impetus II.
Anyone got any experience of these? They don't seem too bad, but they're not scrubbed in yet.
The Dude at the tyre place said they're made by Bridgestone. If that's true, they shouldn't be too bad, should they???????????

all good tyre firms make rubbish low grade tyres aswell, just my thought

Agreed. But surely the Lassa's can't be any worse than the Nankangs that were on the car when I bought it??? They're really useless - no grip in the wet whatsoever!!

I actually didnt find Nangkangs that bad in the wet, they just gave zero feedback and would break away suddenly! Which i suppose is worse than a low grip tyre with oodles of feedback...
Quite a few places online have Toyo T1-S for cheap and theyre not bad tyres at all if you can afford to wait a few days for delivery.

It depends how you drive with tyres! The only major worry if you don't drive hard is stopping quickly in an emergency! That's when you do need a good tyre, because shit ones are much worse.

I find that a tyre without 100% grip is better for road use because then as Wil says, you get some feedback, you can feel when it starts to under/oversteer.

I found with Goodyear Eagle F1's and Pirelli P7000's, you'd have to be going very quickly to lose grip, and when you did, it was sudden, and you had to be very quick sometimes to not lose it when you reach their limits of adhesion which are higher than some crap brands.

I haven't heard of the ones you are using essbee, but try an emergency brake in the dry and wet, if they fill you with confidence, then good, if not then think again!

I am getting annoyed with the tyres on the 14's I have at the moment, because they make my car understeer quite a bit. Scarily so sometimes, especially in the wet.

If its raining at Lakeside i'll show u understeer!
Oh and back ontopic again, tyre pressure probably makes a bit of difference too, i used to run 28psi all round (

) for a smoother ride and when i "tested" it under heavy braking i actually felt the tyre walls flex for a second then flop back into shape
