ok so weve seen the bbq`s, desks etc

i have this breaker, being totaly stripped and shell will be binned, keeping the wings, front panel too probably, bonnet etc is to be sold

so the rear end.. i could chop it off, and make something, have no idea what, but lets have some ideas !!

Image

maybe a trailor, to pull with my discovery, would that be easy to do ? although dont really need one as such, but im thinking there must be something, even a bbq at worst would be cool

 like the idea of it,although not got particular use for it, but what would it involve doing it ? have some mates who weld i could get up for a little fun project like this, although realisticly... it will probably be just left un used 99.9% of the time, which would be a shame, as i have my disco for lugging stuff around

Waste of a half decent E30. This kind of thing annoys me, that's probably better than 65% of the other E30's left on the road, and why is it being broken.... because money talks.

looks good from that picture i agree ! im breaking for parts not money, and its sadly being broken for a reason- big dent all down the other side through door and rear querter (check the thread in gallery) , a sill is totaly rusted, rusted rear valance, jacking points rusted, ok is all sortable ....but the killer is roof rot has set in, sunroof drainage areas rusting out and rusting on the roof skin with holes going right through :(

adit had a look over it earlier, hel confirm...

heres the other side, the dents quite heavy, although could all be pulled out and sorted, new door maybe, whole side re painted, then that would make it look out with the rest of the car, so whole car would need spraying, and in general the other side needs paint too, but look at the roof...the sunroof seal is all crusty and crap, rots all under there, and you can just see the rust scabs this side of the sunroof panel corner on the top there..thats rust and holes you could push right through

So its a turd.

Better to put the parts to use keeping other E30's alive than it being driven to the scrappy, weighed in, crushed and sent to china to be made into toasters.

I was amazed when I fragged the bronze turd about what people bought - I sent parts all over the world and am pleased that they are helping keep other E30's on the road.

And without the frag-cash I wouldn't have been able to rescue the Touring

exactly !!! as i also have an is ..the parts arew inavaluable to me, spare engine, interior, all the lights and running gear, wheels, carpet, boot carpets, all the morsels etc etc , will keep me in parts for a long time and save me buying them

anyway ...

a trailer might be too much, not really got the use for it or anyhwhere to put it,no drive and a garden...but wouldnt get it through the gate and genraly be a bit of a lump

im thinking...possibly some sort of tool/storage box ? on castors ? could be kept in my garage and wheeled out, might be quite cool ? or to be used like a desk/coffee table maybe indoors as a furniture piece

the coffee table in front of me right now against the wall, is approx 110 cm long, 60 wide, and 48 high , how would the rear end compare to that ?

Tool box... Very cool in the garage if you got space... Although if your smart, you'll be able to keep it on the wheels and be able to pull it around too so you can have it outside.

A tool box would be good but it would take alot of work for it to be good for accessing tools like a roll cabinet would unless you just use it like a chest... If it was mine I would chop it off at the bottom of rear screen and turn into a sofa removing the boot lid and building the boot out slightly to a point to where you could sit in it and relax... :) Not that my Mrs would ever let me bring it into the house though... :D

I'm so glad my E30 is non-sunroof

:D

Worst invention ever, just a rot trap. Solid roof FTW
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Somebody might be able to use the shell or even repair. It's better than chopping it in for a tin of sardines.
They don't make bm's like this anymore!..They should.

whos going to want a bare shell with nothing and rust ? however anyone wants it for good use they can, its a bit of a shame because the car is savable with the right time and money, if it was a sport it would be definate non breaker, but to spend 1500/2k on it with the repair and a full re spray, its not worth it

thats what i thought- just a chest type on castors, pull out of the garage, but not too sure on that, more keen on a coffee table idea, with the bottom of the bumper, being the bottom, and able to open the boot and keep stuff in

spoke to my mate earlier whos place its going to to be fully stripped, he said hes got a big petrol disc cutter so we can cut it off and then go from there and decide what to do, he liked the idea of doing something good with it

A BBQ , the boot could be the BBQ lid so it's closed when not in use...

A chair, make a couch base and fit some cushions in it. With the boot up that could be the couch back...

Trailer is a good idea too..

Either way the tail lights must stay working..

People have outdoor swing charis, you could have one made out of the E30, Use the wheels etc and have a rolling chair instead. could be interesting, and still get a bbq out of it too?

not sure ? its not major set in, some surface bits, and cple areas a small hole , press it with thumb you can feel it would do through , obv to keep rain out i dont want to do that , head lining would have to come out- which means all glass, and get any rust gone, and filler or weld it, re paint whole roof, etc, also rust around sunroof drainage, its a goner

typical..that this comes up for sale..a nice is with duff engine and no interior. might be perfect to buy , swap engines over, put interior in, but i shouldnt really

though trailer looks a neat idea but why not save the car and get a normal one?

re fragging a e30 for parts you could always buy them new and keep good e30s alive?
