Anybody on Ledas, and if so what rear top mounts are you using? I bought some Ledas from a chap on here a few months back and am just getting round to fitting them ready for Brands GP at the weekend, the pillowball rear top mounts are daffy ducked. I went to swap them for standard top mounts, but the piston rod is a mm or so bigger diameter than the mount centre hole. Was going to drill/ream them out, but the heat from doing that won't do a lot for the adhesive in the bush. Anybody know why they should be different diameter to standard E30, or if there are any standard BMW top mounts that would suit? I'm planning to run them as shocks only with inboard springs do don't really want or need rose jointed top mounts or anythng else fancy.

I believe Gareth is using Leda coilovers, but I recall him machining his own rear top mounts, and I can't remember if BadDave is using Leda or Gaz coiloves. Either way a PM to both Gareth and BadDave wouldn't go a miss in my opinion Brian, especailly if you are in a rush as they are both quite knowledagable in this subject.
I use the RPM spherical top mounts which are offset for extra clearance at the rear

I have home-mad top mounts as the original leda units wouldn't give enough inner wing to spring clearance. I believe RPM's ones (weren't available at the time i made mine) should help things out a lot. New bearings are available though, i got mine a few years ago from autosport-bearings.co.uk for about £6 each.

Thanks all. Reamed out the standard ones as a stop gap for now with a couple of big washers that should hold it all together for the weekend. No issues with clearance as I'm using the shocks without the coilover springs (inboard springs). Gareth I'm working in Hastings sometime next month and will run that diff up at the same time.
Cheers

I use Gaz's alloy R/J mounts with offset spacers at the trailing arm end(as supplied by Gaz)

Thanks Jimmy but sent JN an email earlier on, I'm relegated to pit bitch for Metal at Brands. Just too many bits and pieces to finish on the car that I couldn't get done for various reasons at the weekend and really busy at work all this week, would literally have been an all nighter Friday before driving the car to Brands Sat morning hoping that everything held together Ok. Ah well, Combe it is then ....
