As above, no need to say if you are or not but please at least answer the poll if you don't want to or don't have any thing to say on the matter but feel free to if you do.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't the E30 zone a 'classic motoring club' that is recognized by insurance firms?

Some insurance companies recognise the E30 zone as one yes.

Saves me more money on my insurace than the mebership costs so I get a free magazine each month which usually has one or two interesting articles in.

Yes i am a member and have been for about 4 years now i think though i cannot remember when i precisely joined sometime during or after 2006.

The magazine i find is quite good and a great read especially recently. I think it is better than PBMW and sometimes on par with BMW Car or a little behind it. They had articles on Paul Rosche, BMW M8 Coupe Prototype, behind the scenes on the BMW Car article celebrating the BMW M3 recently, the find of a really RARE BARN FIND BMW E36 M3 Imola Red Car which a detailer bought and detailed and used as a showcase for his company - he had plenty of offers from others to buy it, a few artciles on restorations, a few tech articles, a few barn find, running reports, reports of shows, BMW M Power Register bloke Richard Baxter i never met him but he has driven/owned pretty much most of the BMW M vehicles ever produced and met Paul Rosche himself  etc

I have only been to Gaydon 2008 and Gaydon 2010 and I think an indoor meet near Wariwck somewhere it was a big BMW meet cannot remeber what it was called. I would like to go to more meeting/meets but havenot been to any yet so cannot really comment. There are supposedly lots of local meets every month which any BMW CC member can join but i have not been to any yet. I used the E30 section of the BMW CC Forum sparingly when i first got the E30 but now pretty much dont bother.

The parts discount comes in handy and they got a new scheme with BMW Sytner they just launched where you get 20% of BMW Parts/Accessories via the BMWCC. I have saved the cost of membership for the past few years via the discount on parts.

I have not met many members of BMW CC of the few i chatted to at shows i met, i met one bloke with a BMW E9 3.0CSL and he was so passionate about his car serious, another with a BMW E34 M5 who lives near Marble Arch though he had clear indicators at the front  he was so passionate about his car too. I met a few more E35 M5 LE owners at Gaydon last year.

They can come across some of them a little old-fashioned/snobbish from the manner some of the articles in the magazine are written. The few I met at shows are cool. There is no doubt a mixture of members of all ages/professions/backgrounds. To be honest I dont really care that much if other members are snobbish as i only joined because i like BMWs and the discount proves useful. There are discounts on loads of other things as well and these are all listed on the second from last page of the monthly BMW Car Club magazine.

I got not idea how it compares to other car clubs but i met a bloke from the Jaguar Car Club at the wkd in Brands and the demographic is most of them are older though they do have older cars e.g. E types, XKs, old school Jag sallons, pre-war looking Jags.

I am but don't really make much use of it.

Get cheap insurance quoting Zone membership anyway and at least 10% off at my local dealer as I've spent a few quid there now :o:

The monthly mag is good. Maybe I should try to get a bit more out of it

I´m a member of the 3 Series E21/E30 club of Spain, does that count? Its a BMW recognised club, the only one in Spain.

I used to be but a few years ago when they turned over Killian who ran the BMW car club forum (now the bavarian board that hasn't had a post for months). Lots of politics and a lot of total pricks involved.
I used to do the track days organised especially the Croft one organised by Nick, they were great.

I would prefer it that someone would have kept the BMW drivers club going after the death of the organiser. Much better, less snooty c*nts and no politics

Used to be a member for 2 years

Enjoyed the monthly mag and 10% discount from the local dealer who still thinks I'm a member, so still get the discount :D
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

Exactly the same here, was a member for about 4 years, but when that happened to Killian, I was out too.

The BMW drivers club was awesome, highlight used to be the track day at Coombe!

Last time I had a pop at them, the mods locked the topic so I'm glad you said that.

Needless to say, I agree with every single word

Thank you Dezzy. :) It wasnt a serious question, I was just highlighting that the zone is seen as a club, but obviously not what he was referring to. Thought I would ask it/state the obvious so others wouldnt get shot down a few moments later. ;)
