Just got a chance to install my interior and found out that the shifter is hitting the center console which makes me not able to get in the reverse and the 1st gear. The problem is from the fact the the shifter linkage is a little too short so the shifter sits too far toward the front. Anyone else runs into this problem? The engine, the tranny, and the shifter all are from M3 3.0L.

Yeah that's most likely your problem. Did this on mine. Undo the circlip, the the shifter 180 then do it up again

That was it! Turned the shifter around 180 degrees and now everything is working as it should be. Thanks again guys. :D
