Well despite what I said earlier in the thread, I don't think our kid will have Kim's bug out this weekend, but we will all still be there with beer(s) in hand, and I'll pack the camera, and if it isn't too windy/dusty I promise to get some shots of you miserable lot on the dragstrip.
We'll be there from Saturday night so I guess I'll see who ever turns up.

OK folks, so it looks like it's going to be windy again and there is a threat of occasional showers, but I'm still going to go.
I think I am going to camp tonight too and will leave off from here about 5pm today.
Most of you have my mobile number already, but if you don't it is 07730 556070
Think I'm going to put a spare set of 15" BBS i have on the rears as they have the 60 profile balloons on, so I'm going to give them some savage burnout action
Any other info about how to get there etc can be found on here http://york-raceway.com/

Oh and remember if you are going there to race BRING YOUR DRIVING LICENCE and a crash helmet if you have one.
I think it may be a bit of a tail wind this time

Haha Mike, once you've had a few sherberts you'll be rite
I just swapped on some 15" BBS with the 60 profile balloons (2 surviving specimens from the touring), absolutely no grip at all, so have just put the MIMS back on.
Loading the car now so will be heading off in a bit. I'll see whoever is turning up tomorrow I guess. My boss rang me this morning, think he's going to take the Bentley tomorrow for a few runs and hopefully I can get him sold on the Yank stuff a little more so he stops dragging his feet.

It's 4 in the morning and I'm working just outside York. Been pissing it down for about an hour. I don't think there will be much action today.

It was a bit grim earlier and I had a shite night sleep in the tent. Was still on the cans at 2.00am lol.
Got some runs in early around 10.00am and the track was damp so getting it off the line a bit of a mission and shifting into 2nd had it lighting the rears.
Then it rained/ drizzled on & off and they wouldn't let the RWD stuff run for a bit, then about 3pm lovely sunshine and it's still beaming now. Had a dead straight tail wind today aswell, so my terminal speeds were slightly up at 98mph.
Sadly a 13 second quarter still has still not been achieved for me but Craig the jammy git pulled a 13.92 just before I left
Well done mate, the lump in that touring is healthy.
I didn't take any pics until the very end and I'll get them up later.
Good banter with Magpie as ever and was good to meet Craig (who also forgot his licence!!!) but charmed his way around

Awesome day lads, nice1
And yes I did forget my licence
but the the geordie charm shone thru and they let me on my way,
totally glad they did,
first run 14.2 which i thought was ok, knew i could do better
but kept running 14.2 ...14.3's
and a 16.7 (but thats another story)
...so
4 cans of red bull and 2 cups of coffee and 3 little toblerone's later,
out pop's a 13.92 which I am told is a very respectable time, for a tourer
Still know I can do better than that, just need to sort the launch out and stop spinning so much,
I'v got some pics and some vid footage, but i'm feked, think i'm on a come down off all that caffeine, i'll get them up as soon as

I know Dez, I'm well fed up, 14.1's all day, but even as bad as a 14.5 on one occasion
Only excuse I can give is the vanos seals, but probably not good enough excuse. The American dream is still alive though and the force is strong with the gaffer. We agreed today that a 12 sec car will just become boring and I think I have a car in mind, depending on whether it is for sale.
Here's my pics I took at the end after I'd stopped running

Totally agree mate. If your going for Yank Tank strip toy its got to be -11 sec's.
I reckon the extra weight is helping the touring off the line.
Think M30 torque
You need to get a 13 out of your chromie before you set foot in a Yank. Otherwise it will never happen
